Big CACTUS study launch

The Big CACTUS team held a launch event at the University of Sheffield to celebrate the beginning of the trial, and the recruitment of our first participant. The event was highly successful, and many people with an interest in the project were in attendance, including people with aphasia and their carers. It was a great opportunity for people to have a go with the latest version of the StepByStep© software, and see what communication means to different people.
Dr Rebecca Palmer introduced the study which is a multi-centre randomised control trial investigating the Cost Effectiveness of Aphasia Computer Treatment versus Usual Stimulation or attention control in the long-term post stroke.
A highlight of the day was the fabulous Big CACTUS cake and cactus cupcakes, made by Anoushka Lee-Ullrich!
