Over the past 30 years, mental health services in the UK have undergone radical
transformation from containing patients in acute institutional care to
managing their symptoms within the community. The Kings Fund has recently published a paper about this under explored fact and it examines this change in mental health services, the relevance is has to current policy and the key factors that enabled this change to happen. It also provides 10 lessons for service transformation.
The paper was written by Helen Gilburt and colleagues and can be found via this link.
