Applying Relationships Science to Contemporary Interventions (ApReSCI)

ApplyingRelationships Science to Contemporary Interventions (ApReSCI) is a three-year collaborative programme of seminar series, designed to facilitate dialogue around relationships science between key stakeholders in contemporary interventions.

Funded by the ESRC and led by Dr Abigail Millings along with co-investigators from top institutions around the UK, the project aims to address the biggest issues in contemporary interventions today – motivation, engagement, and adherence – using relationships science.

Bringing leading experts in the field of relationships research together with developers of contemporary interventions, the seminars provide a forum for discussion and knowledge exchange to ultimately improve the implementation and effectiveness of contemporary interventions.

Event 8 will take place at The University of Bristol on Thursday 22nd September 2016 with the theme of “wider applications of attachment theory in contemporary interventions”. The event is free to attend and you can register here.

Within CATCH, we have four research areas. ApReSCI falls into the “Complex Behavioural Interventions” theme where we have a strong strong track record in the use of technology for behaviour change support, and implementation. These partnerships include work with the NHS, the Department of Psychology and experts in Clinical Psychology within the University of Sheffield. This combination of expertise allows leading theoretical and applied research in psychological behaviour change techniques to be applied to healthcare interventions delivered via smart technologies.

ApReSCI is just one of our many projects that sits within Complex Behavioural Interventions and we’re proud to have recently published two papers in this area.
