The use of telemedicine for remote health care provision by care homes for older people- PhD Project

Since the 2nd January this year I have been undertaking an exciting new PhD project funded by the Abbeyfield Trust and supervised by Professor Gail Mountain, Professor MarkHawley and Kathryn Melling from the RAT group. I have also been working closely with other colleagues who work in related areas, such as Laura Di Bona who is involved in the Adopt A Care Home Scheme Evaluation.

So far my research activity has consisted of reviewing the literature and undergoing training to enable me to develop the proposal further. I am also attending meetings with groups such as ENRICH (Enabling Research In Care Homes) and networking with people working in dementia research and practice, such as Andrew Wallace who is the Commissioning Officer (Quality) in Care Homes for Sheffield City Council.

I would be interested to hear from anyone else carrying out research into telemedicine for older people and / or in care homes. For further information or queries, please contact Louise Newbould: LKNewbould1@sheffield.ac.uk

If anyone has questions or would like to collaborate on the Adopt a Care Home Scheme, please contact Laura Di Bona: l.dibona@sheffield.ac.uk
