Becky Field, researcher, starts a PhD exploring what helps people take part in non-drug based interventions for dementia

Becky Field, Occupational therapist and RAT group researcher has started a PhD, part time, as part of the Valuing Active Life in Dementia (VALID) research programme Given that health and government policy now promotes the importance of offering interventions to support people and their family carers, to live well after a diagnosis of dementia has been given, her PhD will explore what helps people take part in psychosocial (i.e. not pharmacological/drug) interventions and seek to answer the question 'Psychosocial interventions for people living with mild to moderate dementia and their family carers: can readiness to engage be recognised?. '
