Becky Field, Occupational therapist and RAT group researcher has started
a PhD, part time, as part of the Valuing Active Life in Dementia (VALID) research programme
Given that health and government policy now promotes the importance of
offering interventions to support people and their family carers, to
live well after a diagnosis of dementia has been given, her PhD will
explore what helps people take part in psychosocial (i.e. not
pharmacological/drug) interventions and seek to answer the question 'Psychosocial
interventions for people living with mild to moderate dementia and
their family carers: can readiness to engage be recognised?. '
