RAT Group's Claire Bentley and others from the University of Sheffield recently published a paper entitled;"A pilot randomised controlled trial of a telehealth intervention in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: challenges of clinician-led data collection."
The authors announced that recruitment difficulties prevented their study from progressing to a larger RCT. Other issues they faced included missing data, that was resolved by recruiting a research nurse. The study provides recommendations for the introduction and evaluation of complex interventions within clinical settings.
