AAATE2017 Satellite Events - call now OPEN!
The call for short communication contributions to Satellite Events for the AAATE2017 Congress to be held in Sheffield in September 2017 is now open.
Deadline: Friday 31st March 2017 17.00 CET.

The AAATE2017 Congress now invites you to submit a short communication (approximately 900 words) to the Congress Satellite Events from AT related/allied areas such as:
- Therapy;
- Rehabilitation;
- User engagement;
- Audit, service development, novel product, technology or service innovation.
For more information on the AAATE2017 Congress and the 5-day event overview please visit the website. And note that, T4I2017 on 15th September will have a separate schedule shortly to be announced. Fees will also be confirmed in March 2017.
Satellite Events are additions to the core AAATE2017 Conference. The Satellite sessions are workshop or lecture style. Content need not be as academic or at all.
The Satellite sessions will be held at St Mary’s Conference Centre, Sheffield, located approximately a 20 minute walk from the Conference venue of The Diamond.
Draft short communication guidance, for presentations and posters, along with the form to be used for submission can be downloaded here.
The final deadline for all the above submissions is 31.03.2017 17.00 CET.

T4I2016 programme now available!

The programme for the conference is now available here.
The day starts at 8.30 with a packed programme including
22 talks in a variety of areas. We are delighted to have Prof Luc de Witte as a
plenary speaker talking about "How to close the gap between what is
technically possible and practically available?”. We will also be joined by
Stephen Purdham from 3rings who will deliver a session on the Internet of
Things.
This year, we will also host a free social event on Sunday
27th November from 7pm, the evening before the conference to give you a great
opportunity for additional networking. The pre-event dinner will be hosted at
Kelham Island Brewery (23 Alma St, Sheffield, S3 8SA) with steak & ale pie,
peas and local beer. Those who have expressed their intent to be a delegate can
apply to join this free social event*. Please email us to at
t4i@sheffield.ac.uk.
(*Only 20 tickets available. Enquiries will be collected
until 02/11/2016, allocated on a first come first served basis. Tickets will be
sent out on 07/11/2016.)

#T4I2016 exhibition info available and abstract submission open until 5.9.2016

On 28th November 2016 the University of Sheffield will host the national Assistive Technology (AT) conference in Sheffield to showcase AT related research and service innovation across health, education, employment and daily living. It will take place at St. Mary’s Church and Conference Centre, Sheffield. Previously known as the Recent Advances in Assistive Technology and Engineering Conference” RaATE has run successfully for over 10 years and this year we are relaunching under the banner of “T4I” (Technology for Independence).
We are delighted to welcome our plenary speaker from the Netherlands: Luc de Witte, a leading researcher in the field of assistive technologies, is Professor of Technology in Care at both Zuyd University of Applied Science and Maastricht University, He is also Director of the Centre of Expertise on Innovative Care and Technology (EIZT), a regional innovation network with around 40 partners (health care organisations, 3 universities, SME’s, local and regional governments).
Health and social practitioners from the UK will be networking at this event to find out more about new AT products, some of which will be available for demonstration. Contributions from the educational domain are also very welcome to highlight synergies. This engaging conference aims to have a good balance between practitioners and academics engaged and interested in innovations aiming at improving technology and services.
If you are interested in presenting your work at this event, please submit your abstract by 5th September 2016.
Please note, that submitted abstracts will be reviewed in the following week, and registration will open from October. Delegate fees will be £160.
