School students inspired by robots to undertake careers in STEM!

CATCH Centre Manager Simon Butler, with help from our Pepper, MiRo and Paro robots, helped to inspire Year 7 students at Batley Girls' High School at a recent STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) careers event.

The girls were told about the ageing society, the social and health care crises and how robots could be the solution to providing health and social care in the future.  They also had an opportunity to design their own future care robot as well as interacting with Paro, MiRo and Pepper!

The event also featured inspiring sessions from the organisations such as the Universities of Bradford and Leeds, the RAF and Asda amongst others.
