Submit your extended abstract for the Technology for Independence (T4I) Conference 2016 in Sheffield

The Recent Advances in Assistive Technology and Engineering Conference (RAatE) ran successfully for over 10 years and this relaunch, under the banner of T4I (Technology for Independence), aims to reflect the evolving and innovative ways that technology can transform independence for those with disabilities. The focus will be on best practice, innovation and service delivery.

The conference will be hosted by the University of Sheffield to showcase Assistive Technology (AT) related research and service innovation across health, education, employment and daily living. It will occur at St. Mary’s Church and Conference Centre, Sheffield, on 28th November 2016.

The conference offers AT experts the opportunity to present to a unique multi-disciplinary audience and the chance to meet and share knowledge with other people working in the field. AT users can share their experiences and wants for new AT. We encourage you to submit extended abstracts for presentation or as a poster. The deadline is 1st September 2016.

This year we have selected the following broad themes:

  • Technology adoption;
  • Technology enhanced learning;
  • Emerging technology, e.g. Virtual Reality, Robotics or
Smart materials;
  • Cross-platform digital accessibility;
  • Multi-platform AT;
  • And, rehabilitation technology.
Authors who have a proposal for a topic outside of these are welcome to contact the organisers to check its acceptability. The T4I hosts are pleased to announce that this year they will offer selected authors a free one year membership to the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe (AAATE).

More information about publication, the submission process, exhibitors, registration and fees can be found here: www.t4i2016.org.uk where you can also subscribe to the mailing list.
