New paper published about a personalised self-management system for congestive heart failure

Former RAT Group member, Dr Bartlett and others recently published a paper in the BMC Journal of Medical Informatics and Decision Making entitled;

"The SMART personalised self-management system for congestive heart failure: results of a realist evaluation."

The paper describes a realist evaluation of a self-management system for individuals with congestive heart failure (CHF). The system was used at home by people with CHF and these people provided feedback about their experiences with the system. It was found that the system improved heart failure knowledge via information and quizzes. The authors concluded that participants engaged with the system which, had the potential to assist with changing physical activity behaviour. This provides evidence in favor for developing technology further to support this population.
