Proposals may address innovations in underlying technologies, in combining emerging technologies, or in employing tools to improve the user experience. Examples of such innovations are: sensors and interactions; wearable technology; mobile user experience; multiple device user experience; multidisciplinary approaches; brain-controlled computing; combinations of emerging technologies.
Eligibility: All UK companies and the UK-wide knowledge base may apply, and projects must include collaborations between a business, an academic institution and a qualified individual.
Funding available: The total budget is worth up to £1 million. Grants vary depending on the size of the company and on the type and duration of project, however they are usually on average worth around £60,000. SMEs might contribute around a third of the project costs, whereas larger companies generally receive a lower level of funding.
