Google smart contact lenses - one step closer!


The lenses were first presented in January this year and use sensors sandwiched between two layers to measure the glucose levels in the wearers tears. This information is sent wirelessly to connetced smartphones.


Google stated they hoped the lenses would help diabetics by removing the need for inconvenient regular blood tests. In addition now, it is hoped the lenses will be able to be tailored to help those suffering from age related vision loss by restoring the eyes "natural auto focus near objects".
