CATCH staff join eldercare breakfast meeting with Westfield Health

On Friday 31st March, CATCH Director Professor Mark Hawley and Centre Manager Simon Butler were invited to attend a breakfast meeting around eldercare by Westfield Health at their impressive new building, Westfield House.

The meeting was an excellent opportunity for Mark and Simon to network with other organisations in Sheffield who have an interest in eldercare as well as health and well being in general.  It was also an opportunity for Miss Selfcare, one of the #AAATE2017 Congress ambassadors, to have an outing (see photo).

As well as breakfast and some networking there were also four talks, of which three were given by people called Steve(n)!

The first talk outlined Westfield Health’s vision for eldercare and was given by Dave Capper, Commercial Director, Westfield Health.

Next up were the three Steve(n)s:

Steve Chu, Chief Executive, Age UK Sheffield, talked about how Age UK Sheffield is working with/helping the ageing population in the city.

And finally, Steve Purdham, 3rings Chairman, talked about how 3rings has helped a family to remotely care for their elderly relative through the use of a 3rings smart sensor.

The event ended with tours of Westfield House where we were shown the facilities for start-up health and wellbeing companies as well as the excellent conference facilities on the top floor.  This included a very inviting roof terrace with panoramic views over Sheffield.
