Researchers
Becky Field and Laura Di Bona have just had a paper published, as co-authors
and part of their work on the ‘Valuing Active Life in Dementia’ (VALID)
research study. The paper is called ‘Exploring
the need for a new UK occupational intervention for people with dementia and
family carers: Community Occupational Therapy in Dementia (COTiD): a focus
group study’. It has been published in the journal ‘Aging & Mental
Health’.
The paper
reports on focus groups held with people with dementia and family carers. These
groups were part of development work to inform a community occupational therapy
intervention (COTiD-UK) now being delivered as part of the VALID randomised
control trial. The trial is testing the effectiveness of this occupational
therapy intervention. This trial is now running in Sheffield, London and
Humber
