NHS waiting times - the bigger picture

Insightful blog article published on the King's Fund website draws our attention to some interesting facts and figures behind NHS waiting list times. 

In short, waiting time targets have been met, at times, however the number of patients awaiting treatment has been on the increase, with significant numbers of patients spending more than 18 weeks on a waiting list before beginning treatment.

The article concludes that the next government to take office in may this year, will be faced with an NHS who is struggling to maintain it's "iconic" 18-week target.
