Call for neuromodulation research proposals

A call has recently been advertised by ElectRx, DARPA's Electrical Prescriptions program for research proposals looking to develop "neuromodulation capabilities" that will "maximise the immunilogical, physical and mental health" of people in the military and veterans

Neuromodulation isn't a new concept, it aims to electrically stimulate the spinal cord, brain or peripheral nerve to alleviate pain. It can be used to treat Parkinson's disease.

It is hoped that future neuromodulation therapies will increase self-healing, reduce dependence on certain drug therapies and act as a new treatment option for illnesses.
