RAT Group Members Present at Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience's Dementia Forum

Three members of the RAT group presented at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience's (SiTraN) Dementia Forum on the 10th January, 2014. Professor Gail Mountain presented lessons learnt from psychosocial research to date. She drew on her experience from a number of research projects to speak passionatly about the need to ensure that research into dementia is truly ethical and effective. She reminded us that to hear the voice of people with dementia we must always use enhanced communication.

Laura Di Bona and  Kirsty Sprange presented overviews and progress reports on the Valuing Active Life in Dementia (VALID) and Journeying through Dementia studies, which both aim to improve the quality of life for people with dementia.

Several members of the RAT group attended the interesting afternoon, gathering together clinicians, researchers, academics and service providers to discuss a diverse range of dementia topics.
