STARTING MOTOR PROJECT FEATURES ON YORKSHIRE STUDY FILM



A CLAHRC-SY funded project, Starting MoTOR (Mobile Technologies for Obesity Research) has recently featured in a Yorkshire Health study film. You can view the film via the following link and will need to provide this password: Yorkshire

The project investigates the use of a motivational mobile digital device (AiperMotion 500), as part of a weight loss intervention for obese or overweight people with diabetes mellitus. 


Recruitment for this feasibility study has ended and data is being collected over the next few weeks, in order to explore the acceptability of and adherence to the use of this device by overweight/ obese people with diabetes in Sheffield.

  • Meals and drinks can be entered in a simple form of small, medium, large
  • Calculates energy balance up to the current time of day
  • User recieves symbolic feedback on the colour display screen
